Amazing campaign and knowing the history and the great Tiller style games I bought France 40 and several other titles in 2021. Played four but this game while very challenging and fun, favors the French too much. I made it to the Muse River some what battered about 6-8 hours behind the historical and was stoped cold by the French who outnumbered me and caused heavy loses. One tank battalion that madeIt across was routed I had no engineer boats to cross the river and captured bridgeheads were quickly neutralized by French air artillery and tanks. At Sedan I concentrated two Panzer Divisions and a motorized division with support by was stopped cold by French Divisions attacking from the South East of the River. I am 70 and have 60 years in war gaming, playing Tiller games since the late 80s and have read 3-4 of best accounts of the campaign. My assessment is Belgium and French military is much too powerful as is allied air. They fight to the last man and have perfect C&C I even trapped and destroyed two French light armors division east of the Muse about 30 miles from Bastogne at low cost but failed to cross the river. Solution is to weaken French and Belgian moral and delay entry times. In history this battle was a close call but it was poorFrench training, their tactical and operational failures and in many cases low soldiermorale that brought victory to Germany which did not suffer these Weaknesses. A super game and a Great effort but the balance is historically flawed. Keep up the good work with these great games and say a prayer for the great John Tiller. 2b1af7f3a8
