We strive to satisfy our users and ask for nothing in return. We revolutionized the downloading scene and will continue being your #1 site for free games.
Players explore the game's overworld in linear fashion, fighting enemies at set instances, until they enter a dungeon, where they explore in an isometric view that has been compared to Diablo. There, they can fight enemies, and dodge traps using special abilities. During battle, the game features an \"overcharge\" mechanic, where using non-magical attacks generates \"overcharge\" that can be used in place of mana.[4] The player can set the difficulty of dungeons before entering, and completing dungeons at higher difficulties results in receiving more experience points.[4]
Every time you go into a new area there is long load time. Not only that but some of the battles in this game have a short load time and these load times seem pretty random. Sometimes there are no load times at all.
I do not think that the load times break this game; I do think people should know going into the game that sometimes the action stops because of loading. I usually got out my 3DS and looked online a little while the game loaded. Even so, I do believe that Battle Chasers is well worth downloading.
I believe I first noticed Battle Chasers in a random Nintendo Direct early in the year, which in hindsight is an odd sort of irony considering that the Nintendo Switch version of the title has since been indefinitely delayed. What immediately stood out to me was the western-comic book style artwork despite the fact that the game had adopted classic JRPG style mechanics such as a relatively traditional turn-based battle system. I remember thinking to myself \"this looks like some weird offspring between Final Fantasy and Darksiders.\" Well, turns out I had a good reason for thinking that.
These six characters make up the playable party of Nightwar, and the ways that the cast is differentiated in battle is probably the game's largest strength. While each character has obvious strengths and weaknesses in combat, none of them come across as being pigeon-holed into limited roles - many of the characters can serve multiple purposes when combined into a 3-person battle party.
Throughout the game's eight dungeons, I hardly ever found myself having to run the same battle party out more than a couple sorties. In some dungeons, Alumon was my strongest healer while Gully Tanked and Monika focused on damage. In other places Alumon could focus on being a magic-focused cannon. Obviously, the gear and traits that they are equipped with will help narrow down what each is best at, but never to a point where the game's remarkable flexibility is lost.
As you'd expect, Nightwar focuses more on its main cast of characters, although it still doesn't really go into a great deal of depth. The party is very much made up of personalities that are already established, with little room for development. Garrison, the team's no-nonsense swordsman, is a gruff, battle-hardened veteran at the start of the game, and he's a gruff, battle-hardened veteran by the end of it. That's not to say he isn't engaging in his own right or that he isn't appropriately written, but don't go into the release expecting any complex character arcs.
With great dungeon crawling gameplay and a brilliantly worked battle system, Nightwar's a rock solid RPG experience, but we're not sure the pacing will be for everyone. The title settles for a slow, methodical speed, both in and out of combat. As such, it can sometimes seem like you're not making much progress, even though you've just spent the last two hours patiently working your way through a maze of corridors and dozens of enemy encounters. Patience is the name of the game, particularly later on when fights against much tougher foes can take a long time to get through.
Just download the ones you want, and once they are installed, you just play as normal. You can continue to play it as long as each game remains part of the Xbox Game Pass library - and you will normally get a good amount of notice before a game is removed.
As the name implies, battle is the real star of the show here. Battle Chasers: Nightwar features heaps of satisfying, turn-based combat against a burgeoning bestiary of colorful baddies. These fights unfold using Actions, Abilities, and Bursts. Actions are your standard, damage-dealing or defensive techniques that can be used instantly. Abilities take time, however, requiring you to wait a turn to finish casting them. These can be group healing or attacks spells, buffs, and debuffs. Lastly, Burst Skills are tremendously powerful techniques that can only be executed when your Burst Gauge is full. Similar to the Super meter in many fighting games, the Burst Gauge fills automatically as you attack the enemy, cast spells, or take damage. Once filled, you can unleash a powerful spell or attack that can help tip the tides of a battle in your favor.
In addition to video games available at retail stores, Nintendo also offers a variety of content that people can download directly to their systems. Nintendo adds new games weekly to Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo Switch console, the Wii U console and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
Battle Chasers: Nightwar is an American made JPRG and dungeon-crawler, based on the best-selling Battle Chasers comic series by Joe Maduriera and inspired by JPRG greats such as Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Chrono Trigger, and Phantasy Star. It was developed by Airship Syndicate, funded through Kickstarter and published by THQ Nordic. The game features beautiful environments; a gorgeously animated strategic turn-based combat system; and hand-crafted dungeon rooms which are randomly arranged for a different experience each time. Players will battle enemies, find secrets, solve puzzles and explore the world.
